Richard Swan begins 2014 as his first season as a student assistant coach at Washburn. He ended his two-year career as Washburn’s primary starting catcher last year and hit .245 with a .983 fielding percentage behind the plate.
Swan is finishing his degree in management as he works with the baseball team. He’s a 2009 graduate of Sioux City East High School (Sioux City, Iowa) and he played two seasons at Marshalltown Community College before coming to Washburn.
