In 2014: Pitched in seven games with three starts ... had a 6.75 ERA with no decisions ... kept opponents to a .200 batting average ... went a season-high five innings in his first start on March 11 at Emporia State ... he gave up three runs on two hits but the Hornets took the lead for good in the eighth inning ... went the first three innings on April 21 against Newman and allowed a run off two hits ... pitched scoreless and hitless relief on April 8 against Rockhurst and on April 15 against Emporia State going one inning each of those games.

In 2013: Pitched in nine games with relief appearances in his first six and starts in his last three ... went 3-1 to tie for the team lead in wins ... struck out 11 and walked none in seven innings on April 14 against Southwest Baptist ... allowed four hits and an earned run in the win ... went 2-1 in his three starts with a 2.25 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 16 innings ... pitched the first four innings against Rockhurst on April 30 and got the win as he gave up four hits and no runs.

Background: A 2012 graduate of Olathe South High School (Olathe, Kan.) where he lettered in baseball his final two years ... went 9-0 as a senior with a 1.90 ERA to earn First Team All-State and All-Sunflower ... his team went 21-6 and finished third in state ... he went 3-1 as a junior and led the Falcons in strikeouts.
