In 2024: Appeared in a team-high 20 games out of the bullpen throwing 16.0 innings ... finished with a 1-0 record and a 8.44 ERA while striking out 12 ... earned his first win of the season throwing one inning allowing no earned runs on April 24 at Southern Nazarene ... struck out a season high three in 1.1 scoreless innings against Central Oklahoma on April 20 ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll  

In 2023: Made 17 relief appearances and finished with a record of 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 21.0 innings pitched ... earned his first win of the season against Newman (March 4) after throwing three scoreless innings and allowing just three hits and zero walks ... struck out a season-high four batters in 1.2 innings at Missouri Western (March 26).

Before Washburn: Played one season at Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Neb. ... made nine appearances with three starts and finished the year with a 2-0 record ... had a 4.41 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 16.1 innings of work on the mound.

High School: Played baseball at Millard South HS ... as a junior, tossed 56 innings and wrapped up the year with a 1.25 ERA ... was named to the All-Class A and Metro Conference first teams as well the All-State second team ... helped the Patriots to a second place finish at the state tournament.

Personal: Son of Shawn and Courtney Payne ... has one sister, Macie ... majoring in business.
