As a Junior in 2013
Pitched in 10 games with five starts...earned all-MIAA honorable mention...led the pitching staff with a 4.20 ERA and tied for team lead with three wins...went 3-2 on the year...pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against third-ranked Central Missouri to earn his first win and a spot in the starting rotation the rest of the year...allowed just two hits and struck out four that game as Washburn came back from a 6-2 deficit...went seven innings in each of his first two starts after that and allowed just one earned run in the two games...he allowed just two hits and one earned run against Northwest Missouri on April 3 as he struck out five in a 7-2 Washburn win...he also beat Fort Hays State on April 11 as he allowed three runs off eight hits in six innings...he struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings of work in a loss at Central Oklahoma on April 20...finished the year with 37 strikeouts and 17 walks.

Pratt Community College (Pratt, Kan.)
Went 3-1 as a senior in 15 games...had a 3.06 ERA and struck out 52 in 50 innings.

Lawrence High School (Lawrence, Kan.)
A 2010 graduate of Lawrence High School where he played for the Chesty Lions...named to the National Honor Society.
