Biography
As a Junior in 2006
• Played in and started 37 games for the Ichabods. Started 31 as a catcher and six as a designated hitter.
• He batted .314 with two home runs, five doubles and a triple.
• He matched career highs of three hits and two RBI in the win over Missouri Crookston on 03/14/06.
• He had nine multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games.
• As a catcher he threw out seven base runners in 38 attempts and had a .986 fielding percentage with three errors in 213 attempts.
Johnson County Community College (2004-05)
• A transfer from Johnson County Community College where he hit .314 as a sophomore and .305 as a freshman.
• He had 63 hits, 39 RBI and five home runs in his two years.
Lawrence High School
• He graduated from Lawrence High School in 2003 after playing baseball and football for the Lions.
• He attended Norman North High School (Okla.) his sophomore year.
• He earned all-league honors twice and hit .470 his senior year.
Personal
• Also a member of the Washburn football team as a reserve quarterback.
• Son of Kansas head football coach Mark Mangino.
• His uncle Chuck Fiorante played football at West Virginia and his uncle Matt Mangino played at Westminster.
