• A 2008 graduate of Gardner-Edgerton High School where he lettered in baseball three years for the Trailblazers.
• Was named second team all-league his final two years as a catcher.
• Also played quarterback on the football team for three years and guard on the basketball team for two years.
• He was named all-state his senior year on the football team and he helped lead both the football and basketball teams to league titles his junior year.
