At Washburn: Returns to his right guard position where he has started the last eight games … overall he has made 35 starts on the offensive line with the remaining starts with 20 at right tackle and seven at left tackle.

In 2007: Started the first four games at right tackle before starting the remaining eight at right guard … named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll … named the Ichabod offensive lineman of the week following the Emporia State game.

In 2006: Started all 11 games at right tackle for the Ichabods … named Ichabods’ offensive lineman of the week two times - once following Colorado Mines game and Truman.

In 2005: Started the first five games of the season at right tackle before starting the remaining seven games at left tackle. 

In 2004: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

Background: Was a three-time all-district defensive tackle and two-time all-state defensive tackle recording 171 career tackles … high school career record was 31-9 winning the 2000 state championship … a three-time state qualifier in wrestling placing fourth at 275 as a junior and second as a senior … finished prep career as school leader in wins with 155 and pins with 100 … played in 2004 Iowa Shrine Bowl game.

Personal:  Born on June 11, 1985 … son of John and Connie Kavanaugh … majoring in elementary education.
