In 2016: Appeared in 11 games recording six tackles with season-high two coming on special teams against Central Oklahoma … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and MIAA Academic Excellence Award Winner.

Background: A four-year member of the Tulsa Hurricane where he redshirted as a freshman before transferring to Washburn … lettered in football, basketball and track … as a senior totaled 21 touchdowns as a quarterback adding four sacks at defensive end … finished top five all-time for rebounds and qualified for state track and field meet in 400m, 4x400 and discus.

Personal: Son of Barry and Amy Kitrell … working on Master's in Business Administration after graduating with Exercise and sports science degree from Tulsa … father Barry played at Nebraska and brother Bo is a junior for the Cornhuskers, brother Brett is a freshman football player at Ohio.
