At Washburn: A transfer from the University of Kansas with one season of eligibility who will compete for time at running back and on return teams.
Background: Played in eight games as a redshirt freshman and had 10 carries for 101 yards including a 51-yard run for a touchdown … as a sophomore he had 41 yards on 12 carries and had 56 receiving yards and a touchdown … played in all 12 games making six starts as a junior and had 41 carries for 191 yards and three touchdowns and had 20 catches for 102 yards … missed senior season at KU after suffering injury in fall camp … was a multiple-year honoree on the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll … In high school at Potosi, he was two-time all-state selection in Class 3 in Missouri … named the Missouri 3A Player of the Year as a senior … led team to an 11-1 record … rushed for a school record 2,531 yards and 34 touchdowns on 196 carries … set the school career rushing record with 5,551 yards … set the school’s single-game rushing mark with 451 yards, which unofficially ranks as the fifth-best in Missouri history … as a junior, he rushed for a then school-record of 2,420 yards on 248 carries … also caught nine passes for 134 yards … ran for 600 yards on 98 carries as a sophomore … caught a 98-yard touchdown pass for a school record … also competed in track and set the school record in the 100 meters (10.4).
Personal: Son of Roger and Janet Bourbon ... has one brother and one sister ... earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management in May 2014 from Kansas.
