In 2011: Played in 11 games recording 19 tackles with eight solo stops … also recovered two fumbles and had two pass break ups … had a season-high five tackles against Central Missouri in the regular season finale … named the Ichabods’ special teams player of the week after the regular season meeting with Pittsburg State … also received the big hit award during the Central Oklahoma game.
In 2010: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
Background: At Edmond North High School, he earned first team all-city, all-district honors recording 108 tackles with three interceptions and seven pass break ups as a senior … a two-time state qualifier in powerlifting.
Personal: Son of Greg and Kellie Downing … majoring in Kinesiology.
