Biography

At Washburn: Has started 20 games in two seasons as an Ichabod … has recorded 138 career tackles with 81 solo stops and 21 tackles for loss …  entering senior season 11th all-time at Washburn in total tackles… returns to his starting inside linebacker’s position where he started the final 10 games of 2007.

In 2007: Started 10 games recording 85 total tackles with 52 solo stops en route to honorable mention all-MIAA honors … was twice named the MIAA’s Defensive Player of the Week - once after recording 11 tackles with a forced fumble and a sack against Emporia State and the other following the regular season finale against Southwest Baptist after he had 11 tackles with seven solo stops, three tackles for loss and two sacks with an interception … also recorded nine and one-half tackles for loss and three sacks … had six pass break ups … was named the Ichabods’ defensive skill player of the week three times and earned the Big Hit award two times during the season.

In 2006: Started the final 10 games of the season while playing in all 11   recording 53 total tackles with 29 solo stops … recorded 13 tackles for loss and three sacks with a fumble recovery … named second team all-MIAA … received the Ichabod weekly awards for Big Hit four times, defensive skill player and defensive lineman of the week awards one time each … had a career-high 13 tackles with seven solo stops against Northwest Missouri with two sacks and five tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Background: A transfer from Kansas where he redshirted the 2003 season and received a medical redshirt in 2004 after appearing part of the season on the scout team … a 2003 graduate of Blue Springs High School … presented the Buchanan Award as the area’s top big-school lineman/linebacker in 2002 … ranked as the No. 69 high school linebacker in the nation by Rivals.com  … was listed as the No. 1 linebacker in the Kansas City area by MoKanFootball.com … made 112 total tackles and three sacks for Blue Springs as a senior  … was an instrumental part of the Wildcats’ four conference championships and three district championships in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and the Missouri 5A state championship in 2001 … earned 12 letters in football, wrestling and track.
