Background: A transfer from Panhandle State University where he appeared in seven games making one catch before moving to linebacker at Berthoud High School he was an all-conference pick scoring 11 touchdowns and had one interception as a senior winning the state wrestling tournament going 46-2 and was also an all-conference selection in the 4x200, 4x400 and 400m run qualifying for state in the 400 … as a junior he scored 15 touchdowns with five interceptions earning honorable mention all-conference winning first state title in wrestling at 170 … finished third in the state wrestling tournament as a sophomore and was regional champ and finished fourth as a freshman at the state meet.
