Carlos Kelly is in his first season as a volunteer assistant with the Ichabod football team after joining the staff for the spring 2024 practice session and will work with the defensive backs. Kelly currently works as a Student Support Coordinator for SparkWheel at Topeka High School.

Kelly has more than 24 years of experience coaching high school football including four seasons as the head coach at Topeka High along with three seasons as the Trojans defensive assistant and special teams coordinator. Prior to joining Topeka High School's coaching staff, he was at Washburn Rural from 2009-15 after starting his coaching career at Highland Park from 2000-08. Kelly also served as the head coach of the Kansas Koyotes.

Kelly is a 1992 graduate of Highland Park and played quarterback at Butler County Community College winning a conference championship. He graduated from Baker with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2015. He lives in Topeka with his three children, Tyler, Kortez and Mia.
