Eric Eisenbarth

Eric Eisenbarth will be in his 11th season as an assistant coach on the Ichabod staff. Eisenbarth spent two seasons as a graduate assistant before moving into the full-time position.

At Washburn, Eisenbarth has coached four all-American selections, six all-region selections and 23 all-MIAA selections. Eisenbarth has also coached one NFL player in 2011 All-American selection Brian Folkerts who played with the Carolina Panthers, St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Holton, Kan., native was a second team All-American selection and a first team all-MIAA pick as a senior in 2007 on the offensive line. 

At Washburn Eisenbarth played on offensive lines which piled up two of the top six single season rushing outputs in school history and three of the top four rushing touchdown totals under Craig Schurig.

Eisenbarth started his Ichabod career during the 2004 season originally as a defensive lineman where he played in eight games as a true freshman. His sophomore season he played on both sides of the line and made four starts at right tackle on offense.

As a junior, he moved to left guard on the offensive line and was named the Ichabods’ offensive lineman of the week three times earning honorable mention all-MIAA honors as a junior on the offensive line.

His senior season, Eisenbarth helped to anchor an offensive line which set a Schurig-era record for single-season rushing yards with 2,351 (which was the third-best in school history) while rushing for 4.8 yards per carry and 196 yards per game on the ground earning first team all-MIAA and second team All-American honors. 

Overall he played in 47 games at Washburn as the Ichabods were 32-15 making two NCAA playoff appearances and winning the MIAA championship in 2005.

At Holton High School, Eisenbarth was a three-year starting letterman and was a first team all-Big 7 selection on the offensive and defensive lines as a junior and a senior as well as a first team all-county offensive and defensive line selection as a junior and senior. He was a first team all-state class 4A selection by the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Wichita Eagle and the Kansas Coaches Association on the offensive line and honorable mention all-state as a junior and he was a third team all-state pick on the defensive line by the Topeka Capital-Journal as a senior winning the 2003 4A championship for the Wildcats. He wrapped up his prep career playing in the 2004 Kansas Shrine Bowl.

Eisenbarth graduated from Washburn in 2008 with a criminal justice degree and he has taken classes toward his master’s degree in criminal justice. He lives in Topeka with his wife, Bailey, and their daughter Zoey.
