Washburn University Athletics

Jared Taylor is in his first full season as a member of the Ichabod coaching staff joining in the spring of 2023 after his playing career ended.

Taylor played one season at Washburn after transferring from Northern State. As a senior at Washburn he appeared in six games throwing for five touchdowns and 659 yards making two starts during the season. He passed for 251 yards and two scores against Pittsburg State and 215 yards and two scores against Missouri Southern in a win over the Lions and was a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.  As transfer from Northern State where he appeared in 12 games for the Wolves, he was a two-year starter and two-year captain at Iowa City High School where he passed for 2,140 yards passing and 20 touchdowns as a junior. He was an All-District and Academic All-District selection and was also a member of the basketball, track and field, and baseball teams.

He is the son of Gene and Cathy Taylor and has a sister, Casey. His father is the athletic director at Kansas State and he is working on master’s of education degree at Washburn.
