Jeff Schwinn begins his 13th season as a full-time assistant at Washburn and has coordinated the Ichabods’ offensive unit since 2014.  After spending the 2011 season as a graduate assistant coaching linebackers, he then coordinated special teams and coached the defensive secondary for two seasons. In 2024, Schwinn will continue as the Ichabods’ offensive coordinator while also coaching the wide receivers.

Schwinn has been at the helm of four of the top 10 total offensive teams in program history, two of the top 10 scoring,  three of the top 10 passing and three of the top 10 rushing units. 

Schwinn has coached 29 all-MIAA selections and six all-region picks at Washburn as well James Letcher, Jr., who was an All-American selection by five organizations in 2021 and 2022 earning an invitation to the  Kansas City Chiefs camp and won the Canadian Grey Cup as a member of the Montreal Alouettes. Schwinn also mentored 2018 All-America selection James Brania-Hopp who earned an invite to the Tennessee Titans rookie camp. 

The former Kansas State quarterback spent four seasons as the head coach at Chapman High School.

As a player at Kansas State, Schwinn was recognized for his contributions and earned four team awards. During his five-year career, the Wildcats appeared in five straight bowl games and won the 2003 Big 12 Championship. 

He graduated from Kansas State with dual bachelor degrees in social science (2004) and education (2006).  Schwinn also completed his Master’s Degree in Education from Washburn University in 2018.  He lives in Topeka with his wife Alisha and their children Brody, Brixton, and Brynlee.
