Josh Osborn is in his 13th season as a full-time assistant and will coach tight ends and fullbacks after spending the previous five seasons coaching the wide receivers.
Overall Osborn is in his 17th season on the Ichabod sidelines overall after spending his first three seasons as a volunteer student assistant working with quarterbacks.Â
In 2023, the Ichabod return units were ranked third in the MIAA in kickoff returns averaging 20.5 per attempt with an MIAA-best two returns for touchdowns. D.J. Bell was named a second-team return specialist for the MIAA as a freshman.
For the 2022 season, Osborn took over the special teams and led the Ichabods to the No. 2-ranked punt return unit in the D2 ranks averaging 20.87 yards per return.
In 2010, he helped coach Joe Hastings to a school record 1,546 yards and 87 receptions snapping records which were more than 20 years old. Hastings was an All-American pick for the Ichabods.
Osborn has helped 14 Ichabod wide receivers, fullbacks and tight ends garner all-MIAA honors and three quarterbacks receive all-MIAA honors.
Osborn played quarterback at Highland Community College for two seasons graduating in 2004. He enrolled at Washburn in the fall of 2005. The Topeka native was a two-year starter at quarterback for Topeka High. Osborn graduated in 2009 with his degree in history. Osborn has taken classes toward his master’s degree in administration.
Osborn also serves as the Ichabod football team equipment manager as well. Osborn and his wife Emily live in Topeka with their daughters Ella and Evie Jo, and son Landen.
