In 2022: Named to two All-American squads earning Associated Press D-II first-team honors and first-team Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-America honors … earned first-team all-MIAA and first-team D2CCA all-region honors at linebacker in 2022 as he lead the nation with 137 tackles including a nation-best 80 solo tackles averaging 12.5 tackles per game … his tackle total in 2022 of 137 is third on the Ichabod all-time single-season list and is assisted tackle total of 80 is third on the single season chart … a five-time Ichabod defensive skill player of the week and was named the MIAA's Defensive Player of the Week after recording 23 tackles and two interceptions against Central Missouri … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2021: Appeared in seven games and started five recording 60 total tackles, team-leading 25 assisted tackles and three tackles for loss ... had a career game-high 20 tackles and 10 solo tackles in a win over Pittsburg State, it is also tied second most in a single game by an Ichabod ... named Ichabod defensive skill player of the week before the Pittsburg State game ... earned MIAA Defensive Player of the Week ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2020: Season canceled because of COVID-19 ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2019: Named honorable mention all-MIAA after playing in all 11 games making 10 starts leading the team with 73 tackles adding 8.5 tackles for loss and two sacks as well as a forced fumble and a blocked kick … a four-time Ichabod defensive player of the week and a two-time Ichabod big hit award winner … had a career-high 10 tackles in three different games during the season … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2018: Appeared in 11 games recording 18 tackles with a season-high five against Emporia state … also recorded first interception against the Hornets … added two tackles for loss and a forced fumble against Northeastern State … a two-time Ichabod special teams player of the week selection … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2017: Sat out the season as a redshirt … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Background: As a senior he was an all-state linebacker earning super state honors winning the 195-pound state wrestling champion and was a Nebraska Male Athlete of the Year finalist … as a junior he was an all-state linebacker placing third at the state wrestling tournament at 182 pounds and was an all-state honorable mention selection at catcher … finished fifth at the state wrestling tournament as a sophomore at 170 pounds.

Personal: Son of Pat and Nancy Bruner … a security administration major … brother Jake played baseball at Wayne State and father Pat played football at Hastings.
