Biography

At Washburn: An eight-time All-American selection as an Ichabod … has appeared in 48 games making 31 career starts … has 228  career receptions for 2,992 yards and 29 touchdowns averaging 13.1 yards per catch … has scored three kickoff return touchdowns, the most in program history and has averaged 24.3 yards per kickoff return which is second all-time at Washburn for a career … second on the Ichabod career punt return chart with 611 yards and his 46 returns is fifth … ranks first all-time in program history with 228 receptions and 5,623 all-purpose yards, also first in kickoff return touchdowns and tied for first with two punt returns for touchdowns … ranks second all-time in receptions per game at 4.75 per contest and second in all-purpose yards per game with 117.1 … his 13.28 yards per punt return is second all-time … his 2,992 pass reception yards is third all-time in program history and his 29 touchdown receptions is also third in program history.

In 2022: A D2CCA All-America selection as a return specialist and a member of the D2Football.com Elite 100 squad …named the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year for the second time and was the only unanimous selection on the MIAA First Team as a wide receiver … a second-team D2CCA all-region selection at wide receiver … averaged 26.0 yards per punt return on 11 attempts with two touchdowns including an 89-yard return against Missouri Southern in the season finale …  led the MIAA in receiving with 80 receptions, 1,076 yards and 10 touchdowns … averaged 13.5 yards per catch and a league-best 7.3 receptions per game tallying 97.8 yards per game receiving … had 24 more catches and 344 receiving yards than anyone else in the league … led the league in all-purpose yards with 1,575 averaging 143.2 yards per game - more than 42 yards of the next closest player.

In 2021: Earned five All-America awards from five different publications … this past season Letcher, Jr. led the team with 68 receptions for 927 yards with 10 touchdowns in 12 starts … named all-MIAA First Team as a wide receiver and a returner and the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year after taking 24 kickoffs for 685 yards and two touchdowns tying an Ichabod single season record … averaged 13.18 yards per punt return with 11 attempts gaining 145 yards … also earned Second-Team D2Football.com Elite 100 selection, Letcher was a First-Team All-American selection by the Associated Press, a First-Team All-American pick as a kick returner by the D2CCA and a Second-Team All-America squad by the AFCA as a return specialist.

In 2020: Season canceled because of COVID-19.

In 2019: Started eight games playing in 11 earning second team all-MIAA honors at wide receiver and honorable mention All-American honors from the Don Hansen Football Committee as an all-purpose back after finishing fifth in the MIAA in receiving yards per game with 74.9 and his 5.8 receptions per game was second in the league … overall, Letcher had 64 receptions for 824 yards adding seven touchdowns … also was named second team all-region on the Don Hansen all-region squad and third team all-MIAA at return specialist after recording 27 kickoff returns for 734 yards averaging 27.2 per return including a 100-yard return for a touchdown against Fort Hays State … he was second in the MIAA in kickoff return average and was eighth in the nation … finished 10th in the nation in all purpose yards at 163.1 per game which led the league … a four-time Ichabod offensive player of the week winner and a four time Ichabod special teams player of the week winner.

In 2018: Appeared in three games before suffering a season-ending injury receiving a medical redshirt … had 10 receptions for 133 yards and one score and had five punt returns for 122 yards against Lindenwood … had five receptions for 85 yards and a score against Northwest Missouri … for the season finished with 11 punt returns for 117 yards and 307 all-purpose yards.

In 2017: Named the Jermon Watson Ichabod Freshman of the Year appearing in 11 games as a true freshman … had five carries for 36 yards with two receptions for 32 yards including a touchdown against Missouri Southern … added two kickoff returns for 47 yards with a 32-yard return against Angelo State in the Heart of Texas Bowl.

Background: Also played basketball and ran track … as a junior he was the team's defensive MVP at Piper High School earning second team all-league honors scoring … also was a state finalist in the long jump … as senior he was first team all-league at running back, defensive back and kickoff return … named to all-Simone team earning all-state honors at running back and defensive back … recorded 10 interceptions and was named school's offensive and defensive MVP rushing for 1,562 yards scoring 27 touchdowns.

Personal: Son of Morris and Toyea Letcher … graduated with degree in law enforcement … his father played football at Coffeyville Community College winning a national championship and then at East Carolina earning an invite to Miami Dolphins camp.
