At Washburn: A two-year member of the Ichabods … a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. 

In 2024: Appeared in five games as a redshirt freshman … member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. 

In 2023: Sat out the season as a redshirt … a two-time Ichabod work team offensive player of the week prior to the Fort Hays State and Missouri Western games … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Background: A Kansas Shrine Bowl selection after passing for 1,501 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 1,232 yards and 20 touchdowns helping Manhattan to the 6A state championship as a senior … also named the first-team all-state by the KFBCA and Wichita Eagle and was named the Centennial League's Offensive Player of the Year and all-league with Sports In Kansas Top 11 honors and first-team all-state honors … as a junior he was an all-state honorable mention selection after passing for 700 yards and rushing for 926 yards and 16 total touchdowns and a regional football championship and an 6A runner up finish in baseball … an all-league honorable mention selection in baseball … baseball team was fourth at the state tournament as a sophomore winning the district championship.

Personal: Son of Joe and Kitra Schartz … two sisters, Kira and Keylee … father played football at Washburn and is in the Washburn Athletic Hall of Fame … mother played tennis at Washburn … majoring in finance.
