At Washburn: Joined the Ichabods for spring practice after transferring from Southern Illinois … will see time at cornerback and on special teams.

Background: As a junior in 2010 at Southern Illinois, he played in seven games making two starts … had 12 tackles on the year and one fumble recovery … he set a career-high with five tackles at Missouri State … at Butler County, he had 53 tackles, one tackle for a loss, one forced fumble and four pass breakups in two seasons … he recorded 39 tackles, broke up four passes and forced one fumble in 2009 as a sophomore … he helped Butler go 19-4 and win the 2008 NJCAA National Championship … at Northwest High School he was named all-league second team as a safety in 2007.

Personal: Son of Rita and Terrence Shine … majoring in Kinesiology.
