Background: Named second team all-conference and first team academic all-conference as a sophomore for Iowa Western as the team finished as the national runners up on team ranked second in the country … at Washington High School he was a first team all-league pick in football, wrestling and track and field earning honorable mention all-league honors in baseball all as a senior finishing fifth in the state wrestling tournament … was a second team all-league pick in football as well as honorable mention all-league in track and field and in baseball.
