Cody Ziegler begins his first year as an assistant coach with Washburn after spending the last three years as the Director of Youth, College and Recreational Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, Kansas. While in the Manhattan area, Ziegler coached Riley County High School MAYB summer teams.
Ziegler began his collegiate career at Fort Scott Community College in 2001 where he played for two years before enrolling at Kansas State University. While at Kansas State he was a member of the KSU Womens Basketball practice team for three years under Head Coach Deb Patterson. Ziegler graduated from Kansas State in 2007 with a degree in Family Studies and Human Services.
Along with his coaching responsibilities, Ziegler will assist in the pre-season conditioning and weight program, as well as recruiting.
Ziegler is a native of Columbia, Missouri and a 2001 graduate of Northern Heights High School. He and his wife, Emily live in Topeka.
