Background: As a senior he averaged 16.5 ppg and 5.2 rpg with 1.3 apg earning Class A first-team all-state, all-Nebraska second team and all-metro first-team honors … in track as a senior he was the district triple jump champion finishing sixth at the state meet winning seven events during the season … he averaged 18.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 1.6 apg as a junior and was a state qualifier in the triple jump finishing seventh overall … as a sophomore he scored 14.6 ppg with 2.9 rpg and 0.7 apg … academically he was a four-time all-state academic pick.

Personal: Son of Quantel Murphy and Ramona Zephier and he has a sister, Marianna and two brothers, Antoine and Marqus. His father played basketball at Drake and Nebraska-Omaha and his mom was on the track team at Nebraska-Omaha. He is planning on majoring in exercise and rehabilitation sciences.
