Sat out the season as a redshirt … recorded a 4.0 grade point average to become a member of the MIAA's Academic Excellence Award team.Â
Background
As a senior he averaged 16.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game earning team most valuable player as well as first team all-league honors … named second team all-state class 3A by KBCA … went 7-1 on the mound as a senior with a 1.67 earned run average earning first team all-league honors … as a junior he averaged 8.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game … was 7-2 for the baseball tam with a 1.66 ERA hitting .338 with 23 RBI with first team all-league honors as a senior … part of state championship baseball team with 5-1 record and a 1.53 ERA as a junior … an academic all-state selection as well as a Kansas Honors Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society.

Son of Don and Laurie Brown … majoring in biology … brother Travis played baseball at Highland Community College.
