Washburn University Athletics

At Washburn: A two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll competing in two events as a member of the Ichabod track and cross country teams.

In 2021-22 (cross country): Sat out the season as a redshirt … (track): finished 10th in the mile at the Washburn Alumni Invitational with a time of 4:35.99 … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. 

Background: Played one season of football at Highland Community College appearing in five games … at Axtell he finished sixth in state as a senior as an individual and was named all-league and all-state in basketball earning all-league and all-state honors in football … as a junior he was an all-league and all-state selection in football and finished fourth in state as an individual finishing second in the 3200m at the state meet, seventh in the 800m and ninth in the 1600m … all-league and all-state in football and finished 11th in state in cross country … finished seventh in state as a freshman. 

Personal: Son of Roy and Patricia Buessing … three brothers, Christian, Colton and Blaise … two sisters, Maryna and Aspen … majoring in kinesiology.
