Santiago Rendon enters his second season as a graduate assistant with the Ichabod tennis program in 2025-26. Rendon spent three seasons with Washburn as a player from 2021-24 after transferring from Norfolk State where he spent one season. 

Rendon was named the ITA Central Region Coach of the Year on the men’s side in the 2024-25 season. Working with both programs, Rendon has helped guide the Ichabods to two combined NCAA Tournaments, two MIAA regular season and tournament titles and the men’s team to the NCAA Title match. 

Over his three-year career with Washburn he compiled more than 100 total victories going 53-23 in doubles including back-to-back seasons of more than 20 victories to finish his career. In doubles Rendon went 53-19 in his time in Topeka, also reaching the 20 win mark in his junior and senior seasons. During the fall of 2023 Rendon and Tim Hammes qualified for the ITA Cup in doubles and won four straight matches over three days to become the first pair of Ichabods to win an ITA Cup Doubles National Championship. The duo advanced to the ITA Cup Superbowl Championship match and were able to qualify for the ITA Division I Fall National Championships later in the fall. 

The Bogota, Colombia native helped Washburn to three straight NCAA Tournament Appearances including a spot in the NCAA National Championships his senior season. The Ichabods also won back-to-back MIAA/GAC Tournament Championships in 2022-23 and 23-24 as well as the MIAA/GAC Regular Season Championship in 2023-24.
