At Washburn: Has competed in 33 events … has the third-, fourth-, eighth- and ninth- fastest times on an 8K course and the third- and ninth-best times of a 10K cross country course ... has the third-best individual performances in the indoor 3000m (8:31.25), the third-best in the 5000m (14:45.12) and the school record in the 1500m (3:49.77), the sixth-fastest time in the outdoor 800m (1:56.28) and third-fastest time in the 5000m (14:42.50) … has the five of the top 10-fastest times in the outdoor 1500m in program history … a nine-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2022-23 (cross country): Earned all-MIAA honors by finishing 12th at the MIAA Cross Country Championship meet in a time of 24:24.25 … had a season-best fifth-place finish at the MSSU Stampede in a time of 24:23.37 … placed 26th at the NCAA Regional in a 10K time of 30:21.20 and finished 107th at the NCAA Championships in a time of 31:19.5 … (track): Competed in one event during the indoor season and three during the outdoor season … finished ninth in the 1500m at the UCM Relays and the Rock Chalk Classic during the outdoor slate… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2021-22 (cross country): Earned a season-high 25th place with a career-best running time of 24:57.8 in the 8K at the FHSU Tiger Open ... finished with a career-best 10K time at the NCAA Regional with a 31:04.60, placed 33rd ... (track): finished sixth at the MIAA Outdoor Championships in the 1500m and set the school record in the 1500m at the UCM Relays with a time of 3:49.77 … had a PR in the 800m during the outdoor season in a time of 1:56.28 … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2020-21 (cross country): Had a career-best place of ninth with a running time of 25:32.3 in the 8K at the Newman Teams Championships… placed 15th at the DII National Invitational in the 10K with a running time of 32:43.60 (Track): Recorded a PR in the 5000m at the MIAA Outdoor Championships at 14:42.50 earning five team points with a fourth-place finish … set a school record in the 1500m in a time of 3:55.14 at the KT Woodman Classic during the outdoor schedule … finished eighth at the MIAA Indoor Championships in the 3000m in a time of 8:31.24 earning a team point in the second-best individual performance in the event … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Background: Was a freshman on the Mooreland High School cross country inaugural team that placed third in its first season and went on to back-to-back state championship titles ... a four-time All-State cross country runner, placing in the top-three all four years and winning the individual title as a senior ... two-time state champion in the 3200m and 3200m relay as well as a two-time runner-up in the 1600m run at the state competition ... helped the track and field team to a third place finish at state his junior year.

Personal: Son of Russell and Melissa Mclain ... has one brother, Declan ... majoring in kinesiology.
