Biography
At Washburn: He has played in 42 games making 133 tackles and four interceptions as a four-year member of the Ichabod football team … owns the school record in the indoor pole vault at 4.91m (16-01.25) and the outdoor pole vault mark at 4.99m (16-04.50) … has three of the top four jumps during the outdoor season and four of the top six during the indoor slate … a 12-time combined member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
In 2022: (football) Named third team all-MIAA after recording two interceptions for 46 yards in returns plus a 40-yard fumble return tallying 40 overall tackles with 23 solo stops and three tackles for loss starting 10 games … named Ichabod defensive skill player of the week against Pittsburg State … tied a career-high with 10 tackles against Missouri Southern in final game. (track) sat out the season as a redshirt.
In 2021: Started in 12 games for Washburn recording a 70 tackles, which were second on the team, adding 50 solo stops and two interceptions ... had nine tackles and an interception against Northwest Missouri ... three-time Ichabod defensive skill player of the week and Ichabod big hit player of the week and named Ichabod special team player of the week once ... earned all-MIAA honorable mention honors.
In 2020: Season canceled because of COVID-19 ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll … (Track): Set the school record in the outdoor pole vault at 4.99m (16-04.50) at the Loper Twilight … finished fourth at the MIAA Indoor Championships with a mark of 4.91m (16-01.25) breaking his own record in the event … had five top-10 finishes in the indoor season and five more during the outdoor season.
In 2019: Appeared in 10 games recording 14 tackles with 14 solo stops adding a pass break up and two fumble recoveries … had a season-high four tackles against Central Missouri … a two-time Ichabod big hit of the week winner … (Track): Tied the school record in the indoor pole vault with a mark of 4.87m (15-11.75) earning one team point at the MIAA Championships … outdoor season canceled due to COVID 19.
In 2018: Played in 10 games recording nine tackles with a career-high seven coming in the final game of the year against Nebraska-Kearney … named Ichabod co-freshman of the year.
Background: Selected for the Kansas Shrine Bowl and named all-state and first team all-league at defensive and offensive backs as a senior … won his third state championship in the pole vault as a senior after finishing first at the regional meet as well … as a junior he was all-state class 4A and was all-league defensive back selection and won the 4A title in the pole vault … also won the pole vault as a sophomore … also wrestled.
Personal: Son of JD and Carrie Lane … majoring in kinesiology … his father played football at North Alabama and his sister, Lauren, participated in track and field at Fort Hays State.
