Marco Hunter begins his second year as an assistant coach with Washburn after spending the last two years coaching at the high school level.
Hunter coached in 2006-07 and 2007-08 at Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, Kan., under head coach Dan Wall. Hunter helped lead the Golden Tornado to a combined 28-17 overall record in his two seasons. Along with a Southeast Kansas Conference Championship with a 15-1 record and back to back trips to the 4A Sub State Championship game.
He is a 2006 graduate of Field Kindley High School and he earned an associates degree at Coffeyville Community College in 2007 and is studying education with an emphasis in history at Washburn. The Coffeyville native resides in Topeka.
