• MIAA Academic Honor Roll (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)

As a senior in 2025: Missed the season due to injury  

As a redshirt junior in 2024: Missed the season due to injury, sat out as a redshirt ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll  

In 2023: Played in 42 games with 28 starts ... finished the year batting .269 with 28 hits, six doubles, two home runs, and one triple in addition to 25 runs scored and 27 RBI ... drew 20 walks and had eight hit by pitches ... led the team with four sacrifice flies ... collected four RBI and scored four times against Newman (March 5) after a home run, two walks, a sacrifice bunt, and a stolen base ... reached base five times against Rogers State (April 22) and was officially 1-1 with a double, one walk, and three hit by pitches and scored twice and drove in three runs ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2022: Made three starts and played in 13 games overall ... hit .278 with five hits, a double, drew four walks, and scored four times ... went 2-3 with a double against Fort Hays (Feb. 26) ... made back-to-back starts at Northeastern State (March 13 & 14) and recorded a hit, run, and was walked once in both games ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2021: Played in eight games with three starts ... recorded his first hit with a home run against Northwest Missouri on March 24 ... in a doubleheader at Northwest Missouri on May 7, Schmidtlein went a combined 4-5 with a three-run homer, three doubles, two walks, five RBI and three runs scored ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

High School: A four-year player for the Hayden Wildcat baseball team … twice has been selected to the all-city first-team, all-centennial league first-team, and to the sports in Kansas 4A all-state first-team … as a sophomore, was the all-centennial league Newcomer of the Year … also played four seasons of football and helped the team to the state championship game and the sub state championship game the following season … as a sophomore, was named the Newcomer of the Year to go along with his all-city and all-centennial league selection … as a junior, was selected to the all-city first-team and the all-state team … involved off the field as he is an National Honor Society officer, all-school student council officer, all-school captain, and is also a member of the superior honor roll.

Personal: Son of Brian and Julie Schmidtlein ... mother, Julie, played softball at Washburn … he has one brother, Patrick, who played baseball at Washburn … also has one sister, Sydney … majoring in finance.
