Matt Barreiro enters his second season as a member of the Ichabod women's basketball coaching staff in 2024-25. Barreiro came two Topeka after spending the previous two seasons at the helm of the Central Christian College women's basketball program in McPherson, Kan.
Prior to becoming the head coach at CCC, Barreiro spent seven years at Kings University in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada as the Head Men's Basketball Coach and Kinesiology Instructor.
Barreiro brings a wealth of coaching experience, having coached at the high school, club, and college levels. With his seven years serving as the Head Men's & Women's Basketball Coach at The Kings University in Edmonton, he served as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Anderson University (NCAA III), St. Ambrose University (NAIA), and Hannibal-LaGrange University (NAIA), respectively. He also has spent four seasons coaching at the high school level in Arizona and Washington, as well as coaching the U15 provincial team as part of Basketball Alberta.
Prior to entering college, Barreiro was an All-State high school player in Spokane, Washington, and played at the Junior College level in Washington State before transferring to Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, Arizona, where he later completed a Bachelor of Science degree. From there Barreiro went on to complete a Master of Science from Walden University, while also becoming certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
