Emma Stevens

Former Nebraska goalkeeper Emma Stevens is in her first season as an assistant coach after wrapping up her career as a four-year letter winner for the Huskers making 69 starts in goal for Nebraska.

Stevens completed her collegiate career with a 1.56 goal against average recording 10 shutouts going 37-27-3 in net for Nebraska. As a senior she was 19-4-1 for the Huskers finishing the year with a 1.08 goal against average recording 94 saves wrapping up her career as the Huskers’ all-time leader with 278 career stops. She is also second in games played with 73 and minutes with 6,221 while finishing third in with 37 wins and sixth with 10 shutouts. She earned first team all-region honors in net and was a second team all-Big Ten selection. In the classroom she was a five-time selection to the Nebraska Scholar Athlete honor roll and was an Academic Big 12 pick in 2011 and 2013. She graduated in Dec. 2013 with her bachelor’s degree in political science.

The Corona, Calif., native played at Santiago High School starting as a freshman and going 19-4-2 as a senior. She was her class valedictorian and was named the Outstanding Female of the Year for her school district. On her club team, the Slammers FC, she was the starting goalkeeper for eight years leading team to state title in 2007 as the Slammers advanced to the state semifinals or finals six times. 

She is engaged to Jeremiah Sirles, a former football player at Nebraska and a rookie member of the San Diego Chargers.
