Walker Farrar is in his first season as a member of the Ichabod coaching staff and he will coach the Washburn goalkeepers.
Farrar started his collegiate career by playing two seasons at Coffeyville Community College where he was named team captain as a sophomore starting nine matches in goal. He totaled 62 saves and finished with a .805 save percentage helping to lead the Red Ravens to their first-ever national tournament appearance in school history as a freshman. He started 12 games as a freshman, totaling four shutouts. He compiled a 9-2-2 record with a team-best 71 saves and a .807 save percentage while allowing a 1.25 goal against average earning Academic All-Conference honors.
After transferring to Rogers State, Farrar tallied 13 starts, 52 saves, and a career .813 save percentage graduating from Rogers State in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing.
The Topeka native played his prep career at Washburn Rural High School and was named Kansas Class 6A All-State and all-region during his tenure with the Junior Blues. He helped WRHS to a league championship in his senior season after winning state, regional, and league titles as a junior. He tallied 28 shutouts in 40 matches during his career.
As a coach Farrar has been working with goalkeepers for more than 10 years previously coaching for Topeka Soccer Club’s competitive setup.
