Jason Robbs

Jason Robbs is in his first season as an Ichabod men's and women's assistant track coach and will lead the throwers for Washburn. A Neosho County Community College alumn (06-08), under the leadership of Head Coach Darin Schmitz, he was a three-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Champion (Hammer, 35lb Weight, Discus), seven-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American. Robbs was named the 2007 and 2008 Athlete of the Year at the KJCCC Conference Track and Field Championships. He holds the Neosho County school hammer and the weight throw records and the Region 6 and KJCCC Conference record in the hammer throw as well.

Robbs success didn’t stop at junior college, Robbs received several full scholarship offers from multiple NCAA Division I schools. He accepted the offer from Illinois State University; under the leadership of Head Coach Elvis Forde, and Throws Coaches Jeff Chakouian and Erik Whitsitt. While at ISU Robbs Was an all-conference performer in the Discus and the Hammer Throws. Under the leadership of Head Coach Zack Kindler, at Baker University Jason was an NAIA All-American in the Hammer Throw; placing third. Robbs also holds multiple school records at Baker.

During his last year at Baker University (11-12) Coach Robbs coached the throws. Under his leadership Robbs helped produce, 2 NAIA National All-Americans, four Heart of America Conference (HAAC) Champions, 7 All-Conference Athletes, and a plethora of other athletes that had meters multiple meter personal records.

At Shawnee Heights High School, starting out as a student-athlete only placed sixth at the state track meet and was un-recruited out of high school, Robbs has built his successes through his abilities to overcome statistic and personal giants through his tenacious drive to want to become the best. This is a trend that has followed his student-athletes and that is soon to follow his future student-athletes.
