Biography
At Washburn: Has competed in eight events overall between track and cross country.
In 2024-25: (cross country) Took part in three events as a freshman placing a season-high 77th at the Griffon Invite in a time of 22:14.9 on the 5K course … recorded a best 5K course time of 21:47.3 at the JK Gold Classic (track) competed in five events during the track season with two during the indoor slate … finished a season-best seventh in the 1500m at the Rock Chalk Classic … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Academic Excellence listing.
Background: In cross country she finished 24th at the regional meet as a senior en route to first-team all-league honors and was 30th as a junior and 41st as a sophomore adding the ninth-place league meet as a junior earning first-team all-league honors … in track she finished 16th in the 1600m and was 14th in the 3200m at the state meet as a senior and finished fifth in the 1600m and was sixth in the 3200m as a junior at the regional meet … also a first-team all-league selection in golf as a senior.
Personal: Daughter of Josh and Liz Barnett … two sisters, Kylee and Macy … father played football at Emporia State and mother was on cheer squad … majoring in business/pre-law.
