Biography

At Washburn: A five-time All-American overall and a CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2021 … recorded the fifth-best mark in NCAA D2 history after clearing 4.35m (14-03.25) at UNK in 2021 … has the school record in both the indoor at 4.16m (13-07.75) and the outdoor 4.35m (14-03.25) … has the top eight of the top 10 best indoor marks (including the top six) and nine of the top 10 outdoor marks in program history … as of 2021, the only Washburn track and field, male or female athlete to automatically qualify for both the indoor and outdoor NCAA championships … has 13 individual titles … has competed in 49 events with an eight-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll … during the summer of 2021, she finished second at the Italian National Championships prior to the 2021 Summer Olympics clearing 4.30m (14-01.25). 

In 2021-22: An All-American in both the indoor and outdoor seasons after placing second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and third at the NCAA Indoor Championships … earned all-MIAA honors after finishing second at the conference outdoor championships and second at the indoor championships … competed in 16 events winning six individual titles … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Scholar Athlete for both indoor and outdoor and earned the MIAA Academic Excellence award after both seasons.

In 2020-21: Earned All-American honors in both the indoor and the outdoor seasons by finishing a Washburn-best second place in both events … also named the USTFCCCA Central Region Field Athlete of the Year … won the MIAA Outdoor Championship at 4.25m (13-11.25) … won the Loper Twilight Qualifier with a vault of 4.35m (14-03.25), a mark that was the No. 5 mark in NCAA DII history … went over the 4.00m five times during the outdoor season … won six meets during the season … finished third in the Indoor MIAA Championships earning all-MIAA honors … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Scholar Athlete for both indoor and outdoor … also named the Washburn Senior Student Athlete of the Year as well as first team CoSIDA Academic All-District and became the first track and field athlete to be named CoSIDA Academic All-America®.

In 2019-20: Named an indoor USTFCCCA All-American after qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships … an NCAA Division II Indoor Championships qualifier with the 17th-best mark in the nation before the event was canceled … set an indoor personal best at the Pitt State Invitational at 3.93m (12-10.75) … had seven top-10 finishes … outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

In 2018-19: Had a PR in her first competition of the season at the Tjeerdsma Classic winning the individual title at 3.72m (12-02.50) … was third at the Graduate Classic in the next event … placed fifth at the West Texas A&M Classic with a mark of 3.45m (11-03.75) during the outdoor season … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Background: A member of the Italian National Team at the European U20 Championships in Grosseto, Italy … a transfer from Cal-State Northridge where she competed one season … as a freshman last season for the Matadors, she tied a season-best with a mark of 11-10.50 at the New Mexico Classic to finish 19th during the indoor season … competed in one event during the outdoor season.

Personal: Daughter of Mario and Elisa Scardanzan … majoring in kinesiology.
