Brad Alberts joined Washburn in 2014 for his first season as a student assistant coach. He finished his two-year career last year as the school’s all-time leader in doubles among two-year players with 29 from 2012-13. Alberts hit .377 in 2012 with eight home runs to earn second team all-MIAA. He hit .340 in his two-year career and had a .986 fielding percentage as a first baseman and pitcher.
Alberts will finish his degree in mathematics as he works with the baseball team. He’s a 2008 graduate of Olathe Northwest High School (Olathe, Kan.) and he played at Allen County Community College for two years before coming to Washburn.
