Washburn University Athletics

Ethan Lecker joins the Washburn athletic department as the communication office intern for the 2026-27 school year. Lecker will be the main contact for the Ichabod women’s soccer program as well as the Washburn men’s and women’s golf teams while assisting with all other teams on campus.

Lecker is a 2026 graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he is graduated with a degree in Communication with an emphasis in sports journalism. Lecker served as a Communication Intern for the Green Bay athletics department in supporting game-day operations and storytelling efforts the Phoenix. His responsibilities included producing game notes, writing previews and recaps, managing roster sheets, creating game-day graphics, and inputting live statistics through NCAA Live Stats. He contributed coverage primarily for men’s soccer and basketball.

Lecker’s earlier experience includes working as a Production Assistant with Zaleski Sports, where he developed skills in live sports broadcasting, including camera, audio, and video production. He also gained valuable customer service and event operations experience as event staff for UW-Green Bay’s recreation program.
