Washburn senior setter Kate Hampson was named the MIAA's Specialist of the Week after helping the Lady Blues to a 4-0 record at the Holiday Inn/Lady Blues Fall Classic.
Hampson was named to the Lady Blues Classic all-tournament team after leading the Lady Blues to a 4-0 record, including a 3-1 win over No. 6 West Texas A&M. The senior from Fort Collins, Colo., recorded 52 assists against Southeastern Oklahoma while recording four kills and 12 digs. Against No. 6 West Texas A&M, Hampson had 51 assists with three kills and nine digs. Against Tarleton State, she recorded 28 assists with nine digs and five kills and against Angelo State, she had 34 assists, three kills and five digs. For the weekend, Hampson averaged 41.25 assists per match and 11.8 assists per set. She also moved into 10th place on the MIAA career assist list. Hampson now has 5,184 career assists.
