Washburn's Sierra Mortensen opened her collegiate cross country experience with a bang as she won the Southwest Baptist Invitational becoming the first Ichabod women's cross country athlete to win an individual title as a team the Ichabods took fifth place out of nine teams. Mortensen won the 5K run in a time of 18:16.74 winning by four seconds over Clair McCune from Drury. Mortensen's time is the fastest 5K mark in school history by nearly 65 seconds.
