This past weekend, the team of Alexis Czapinski and Logan Morrissey became the first duo in Washburn program history to win a women’s doubles title at an ITA Regional Championships. Czapinski and Morrissey won the doubles Flight A at the Central Regional tournament on Sunday after opening the weekend with an 8-0 sweep over Fort Hays and then recording victories against Harding (8-4) and Oklahoma Baptist (8-4). On the final day of competition, they advanced to the final match by default in the semifinal round. They faced Central Oklahoma for a match that went to three sets, but the Ichabod pair came out on top winning 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.
