KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The ninth-ranked Washburn Lady Blues went on the road and swept No. 19 Truman State 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-17) on Friday night in Kirksville. The Lady Blues continue their road trip on Saturday night in St. Joseph, Mo. against Missouri Western at 7 p.m.
Washburn (25-3, 9-3 MIAA) jumped out to a 15-9 lead in set one and held off a Truman rally to take the opener 25-21. From there, the Lady Blues handled the Bulldogs (19-9, 7-5 MIAA). WU won 10 of the first 13 points in set two and cruised to the 25-17 win and finished off the sweep with another 25-17 win in set three.

Hillary Hughes led a balanced Washburn attack with 10 kills and 14 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Senior
Kate Hampson recorded her 48th career double-double with 28 assists and 13 digs.

Jessica Fey added nine kills, while sophomores
Mollie Lacy and
Breanna Lewis had seven apiece.
Emily Briseno and Lauren Graybeal led Truman with seven kills each.
