TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team won two of the three doubles matches to begin the day with Midwestern State, but couldn't make it stand up as they fell in four of the six singles matches to the Mustangs falling 5-4 in a regional match.
The No. 2 doubles team of
Ryan Ward and
Drew Hanson picked up a win and the No. 3 squad of
Simon Blondin and
Yann Kasay won their match to push Washburn to a 2-1 lead after doubles. Washburn's two singles points came at the top of the line up as
Branden Joost won his match at No. 1 singles and Blondin recorded his second point for the Ichabods at No. 2 singles in his three-set win.
