Gene Cassell/Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Ichabods wrap up regular season with win over Missouri Southern 11/13/2010 5:08:12 PM Box Score | Season Stats | Photos TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods wrapped up the regular season with a 23-7 win over Missouri Southern sealing a 7-4 record and will now wait until Monday to find out who their postseason opponent will be and the location of the Dec. 4 bowl game. The Ichabods took the opening kickoff and marched 67 yards in five plays capped by a 47-yard touchdown strike from Dane Simoneau to Tore Hurst for the only points of the first quarter. The Lions scored on a Collin Hard pass to Kellen Cox with 9:26 to play in the second quarter tying the score at 7-7. The Ichabods took the lead for good on a Simoneau to DeJuan Beard six-yard touchdown pass with 7:47 to go in the first half. Steve Ivanisevic kicked three field goals in the second half for the lone points for either team. The first was from 31-yard outs with 8:09 to play in the third quarter and the other two were at the 13:34 mark of the fourth quarter on a 20-yard connection and with 2:05 left to play in the game, Ivanisevic connected on a 45-yard field goal into the wind. Simoneau finished the game 25 of 40 for 385 yards and two touchdowns raising his single-season to 3,109 yards breaking his own record set as a sophomore. He has 6,852 career yards passing trailing all-time leader Jordan Brill by 189 yards. Joe Hastings had 11 catches, tying his career high for 185 yards giving him 77 catches on the season, needing seven more catches to tie the single season of 84 set by Ron Hamilton in 1980. Jahmil Taylor led the Ichabod defense with 14 tackles including two tackles for loss and one sack. Sam Pour had a career high seven tackles. Washburn had 385 yards of total offense while holding the Lions to 175 of offense on the day. Washburn held the Lions to 84 yards of offense in the second half.
