TOPEKA, Kan. -- A 14-3 run over a 3:30 stretch of the second half was too much for the Ichabods to overcome as they fell to No. 8-ranked Fort Hays State 74-62 in Lee Arena. The Ichabods will be back in action on Wednesday with another ranked foe when they will play host to No. 3 Central Missouri at 7:30 p.m.

De'Andre Washington cut a second half Tiger lead to seven at 45-38 with 13:23 to play in the second half, the Tigers responded with back-to-back 3-pointers stretching the lead to 18 at 59-41 with 9:53 to go in the game. The Ichabods cut the lead back to 11 on two different occasions before falling to the Tigers.
The Ichabods trailed by six at the break 31-25 after the Tigers shot 52 percent in the first half hitting 13 of 25 from the field. The Ichabods were 10 of 26 while going 1 of 10 from 3-point range.
The Ichabods were led by William McNeill who scored 15 going 8 of 9 from the free throw line.
Logan Stutz scored 11 points off the bench hitting 4 of 6 attempts. Stutz led the Ichabods with six rebounds.
Fort Hays State had four in double figures paced by Willie Hassell's 17 points. Dijon Smith had 15, Dominique Jones had 11 and Corbin Kuntzsch had 10.
The Tigers led the Ichabods on the glass 35 to 28. Washburn forced 14 turnovers leading to 19 points.
Washburn finished the game 20 of 50 for 40 percent and 4 of 19 from 3-point range. The Tigers shot 64 percent in the second half going 14 of 22 from the field and 5 of 10 from 3-point range finishing 27 of 47 for a 57 percent average.
