KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's basketball team and four individuals were honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Wednesday. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Named to the NABC Honors court were Brady Christiansen, Cole Parker, Jack Bachelor and Sam Ungashick. Both Christiansen and Ungashick were repeat selections.

The Ichabod squad earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for recording a 3.36 cumulative grade point average during the 2025-26 season.

The Ichabods are coming off a 2025-26 season that saw Washburn win both the MIAA regular season and tournament championships finishing ranked No. 3 in the final NABC rankings with a 31-2 record. The Ichabods finished the MIAA slate with an 18-1 record winning the league title by four games and the Ichabods also spent the entire season inside the top five of the NABC top 25 coaches poll including seven weeks at No. 1 in the rankings.
