Season Stats

MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues suffered defeat for the first time this season in MIAA play with a 6-3 loss to Northwest Missouri. Washburn drops to 4-1 in MIAA play while the Bearcats improved to 5-2 in conference action. Washburn will take on Rockhurst in Kansas City on April 8.

Washburn, who remains in first place in the conference standings, still has MIAA matches remaining this season against Missouri Western, Truman and Fort Hays State - all at home. While the Bearcats have only Nebraska-Omaha on their conference schedule.

The Lady Blues fell behind 3-0 after doubles play and could not dig out of the hole as the Bearcats took the top three singles flights leading to the 6-3 win. Jamie Blackim at No. 4, Alyssa Castillo and No. 5 and Kristin McKee at the No. 6, all won their singles matches for the only points for the Lady Blues. Blackim and McKee each won three-set matches.
