Ichabods finish perfect weekend at MSSU with two more sweeps

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The 13th-ranked Ichabods won their 11th and 12th straight games with sweeps Saturday over Arkansas Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma State in the final day of the Missouri Southern Invite.

Washburn (19-3) beat ATU 25-19, 25-19, 25-19, and beat SEOSU 25-9, 25-14, 25-20 and finished the weekend in Joplin with four straight sweeps.

Marissa Cox had 10 kills in both matches Saturday and Leanna Willer had nine in both matches. Cox hit .529 against the Golden Sunds with one error in 17 attacks. She also had four blocks that match as the Ichabods had 10 as a team. Rebecca Maasen had five blocks.

Cox hit .500 against the Savage Storm with three blocks. Hannah Frierdich led the team with six total blocks.

Abby Wittman had a double-double against SEOSU with 25 assists and 12 digs. She also served three aces. She had 35 assists against ATU. Kelsey Lewis led Washburn with 15 digs against ATU and nine against Southeastern Oklahoma State. Corrine Stringer had nine kills in the ATU match.

Washburn led 14-1 in the first set of the Savage Storm match and led 22-4 late in the set.
