ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Washburn finished the MIAA/NSIC Crossover going 1-1 on the final day falling 2-1 to St. Cloud while topping Sioux Falls 8-0. Washburn will open its home slate on March 5 against Northwestern Oklahoma.

The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and the Lady Blues knotted the score in the top of the sixth when
Lauren Thimmesch singled with two outs and then moved to third on a double by
Shelby Erickson. After
Deidra Jones drew a walk to load the bases,
Kristen Bell was hit by a ptich scoring Thimmesch. However the Huskies scored in the bottom of the seventh for the 2-1 win.
Lauren Thimmesch took the loss striking out four.

The Lady Blues scored scored five runs in the first inning as
Lauren Thimmesch drove in five runs in the game in an 8-0 win over Sioux Falls snapping an eight-game losing streak.
In the first, Thimmesch drove in two with a double.
Shelby Erickson connected on a three-run homer in the fifth inning putting Washburn up 8-0 ending the game with the run rule.
Leah Garland connected on a two-run homer in the first. Erickson finished with four RBI on the afternoon.
Marina Quimby picked up the win striking out three.
